Stepping up to your challenge, Sean.

Alex Velez and Sean Lowe

Sean – I’ll never forget the day we met in the house, ma brother. Although time has passed and our lives haven't crossed paths in years, you've supported my work with Back to the Roots and I've been inspired by not just the man you are, but the incredible life you are building with Catherine and Samuel.

For some reason, I like to think it's for reasons out of our control, we got to hang again in Dallas last week, just two days before Hurricane Harvey hit. I watched your response to it – which was to pack your things, sleep in a car, and go do whatever you could – and I knew I couldn't sit back. You inspired me, my co-founder Nikhil, and the entire Back to the Roots team.

You made us ask ourselves “what can we do, and what can we do quickly?”.

Today, we want to share that we’re stepping up to your challenge. Back to the Roots is sending a full truck load of organic breakfast cereal – 125,000 meals – to Houston. The cereal is being distributed to the area by the national nonprofit Feeding America.
