It’s been around for 10,000 years
Hemp has been at the center of human agricultural history for over 10,000 years. Cultivation began as far back as 8000 BC in regions of ancient Mesopotamia and Japan. Since then, hemp has been used to make medicines, sails and ropes for ships, lassos, and canvas-covers for wagons. Some of the first drafts of the U.S. Constitution were written on hemp paper!
2018 Farm Bill Legalizes Hemp Again
While both hemp & marijuana are part of the Cannabis family, they are very different plants, and the 2018 Farm Bill legislated and recognized this difference. While marijuana contains 15-25% THC (psychoactive compound), hemp has nearly none. Hemp has been used for millennia as a great source of fuel, fiber, and food — and now, after decades of dormancy, can be grown again in the US.
Healing and Nutritious
Did you know hemp is one of the most nutritious foods you can eat? You can find it in numerous forms at the grocery store, such as hemp seed oil (great as a salad dressing), hemp hearts (sprinkled on soups, salads or added to smoothies), hemp protein, and hemp drinks!
